This new 166,000 SF building, for one of the most distinguished schools of pharmacy in the United States, houses biomedical research laboratories and faculty offices. There are a variety of meeting spaces, from a tiered floor seminar room for 75 people, to a large “boardroom” and several meeting rooms for smaller groups.

The building fronts on The Commons, the central quad of the campus, opposite the new library. The four story building is organized with dry research lab space and administrative office spaces on the first floor, with wet biochemistry labs on the upper ones. The lab-floors of the building are organized with regular lab modules, and their adjacent alcoves for fume hoods, bio-safety cabinets, etc. are served by a parallel linear equipment corridor. Common lab functions such as tissue culture rooms, autoclave rooms and equipment rooms occupy a portion of the core area. Offices are aligned along the east side of the building with ample daylight and views to The Commons. The building has been certified as LEED Gold.

The $48,000,000 project was occupied in Spring 2011.
